The Kenton Group WEEE Compliance Statement
The European Union's Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive was implemented in member states during 2006. There are a number of obligations imposed on The Kenton Group as a supplier of electrical and electronic equipment. The Kenton Group's compliance approach for these obligations is provided below.
WEEE Marking
All products that are subject to the WEEE Directive supplied by The Kenton Group from 13th August 2005 are compliant with the WEEE marking requirements. Such products are marked with the "crossed out wheelie bin" WEEE symbol shown right in accordance with European Standard EN 50419
WEEE Compliance Scheme
The Kenton Group is a member of the WEEE Compliance scheme: Cert No: WEE/BD0324XQ
Information for Users
According to the timelines and requirements of European Union member state WEEE legislation, the following user information is provided in English for all Kenton Group supplied products subject to the WEEE directive.
This symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that the product must not be disposed of with normal household waste. Instead, it is your responsibility to dispose of your waste equipment by arranging to return it, at your cost, to The Kenton Group for the recycling. By separating and recycling your waste equipment at the time of disposal you will help to conserve natural resources and ensure that the equipment is recycled in a manner that protects human health and the environment.

The Kenton Group Restriction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) statement
The Council of The European Union and The European Parliament has issued a directive known as the Restriction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS). This directive (2002/95/EC) restricts the use of certain substances deemed hazardous by the EU and used in electrical and electronic components and products.
The directive requires that, beginning July 1, 2006, new electrical and electronic equipment put on the market does not contain Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Cadmium (Cd), Hexavalent Chromium (Cr6+), Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB), or Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE). The maximum concentration levels, by weight per homogeneous material, have been set by the Technical Adaptation Committee (TAC) at 0.01% for Cadmium and 0.1% for the remaining substances.
